This was the first Brazilian churrascaria in town. The decor is uninspired, with exposed brick walls and plain wooden furniture; it is simple, yet cheery. The menu is just as simple, offering no appetizers and just three main dishes: a meat special, cornish hen and grilled fish. The meat special includes assorted cuts of beef, as well as turkey and chicken breasts cured in salt for 24 hours. All you can eat goes for around CAD20. The service is helpful and dinner for two, excluding wine or tip, comes to around CAD50.
I had dinner here with a group of friends and we had an excellent time!! We all took the all-you-can-eat-meat menu for $29.95. Our dinner began with unlimited salad, rice, sauteed mushrooms and sweet potato being served at our tables while the meat cutters brought enormous meat skewers and cut the meat right at our table!! There were 10 different meats ( ribsteak, sirloin and filet mignon to name a few) that we all charcoal grilled to perfection!! We gorged ourselves :) The dessert was included (cinnamon roasted pineapple or vanilla ice cream) and served with coffee. The coolest thing about our evening was the live samba dance show that paraded through the restaurant - super cool! I recommend this place for groups, bachelor parties and people looking for a really fun night out!!
I went with a group of 8 for a company party. After about an hour waiter after waiter came to ask if we were finished. We told them many times we weren't; they wouldn't bring us any food and just kept sending people to ask if we were finished. One of the waiters actually told us that if we were annoying they would ignore us! I don't appreciate being insulted when paying 40$ for a meal.
There are plenty of cheaper and better Brazilian restaurants in Montreal - try Lélé Da Cuca or Senzala.
I was happy to find out that we have a Churrascaria here in montreal. But dont be fooled, this place will make you leave unhappy. T o be fair, i must admit that 3 of meat selection were great, however, the chicken and the other meats were very dry. But the food is not the biggest disappointment, the problem is the service, or I should say lack of it. There is absolutely no service other than the meat service. No one comes to see you, my water was not refilled for the whole meal and I had to wait 45 minutes before after they cleaned the table for a waiter to come to ask for some coffee (which i did not at that point). They avoid eye contact and just dont come to your table.
My advice, save you money for a better restaurant, there are plenty in Montreal. And if you are in the US, try "Texas de Brazil" to see what a real Churrascaria is all about.
Good atmosphere, good food, fun place to bring clients. A unique experience.
Make sure you bring your appetite, you will eat a LOT of food!
The dancers are fun on the right night, so bring a camera to embarras your friends.
We were a large group with a reservation made one month in advance. We had to wait 45 mins to get a table, and then they wanted to seat us at two different tables! They gave us one combined bill at the end of the night, which was not fair because not everyone drank. When trying to get individual bills we were told to get out and that we didn't spend enough money. (The combined bill was $700. We were apparently supposed to rack up $1500) Did I mention that you have to pay for water?? The management here is terrible, and customer service is a term that this resturant has never heard before.
The service was excellent the night we were there. I would recommend their caipirinha (sp?) to anybody who enjoys a yummy alcoholic drink with their food.
My kids all overstuffed themselves the night we ate here. Plenty of things to choose from.
This place is an overpriced joke.
Three choices on the menu, and each is overpriced. If you order the "Turnstile" it seems as though the waiters bring lots of variety to start and then seem to disappear, so much for the all-you-can eat mentality.
They are deceptive with drink prices, not telling you that the drink they are presenting is actually a "Double" and will cost you $14 a swig.
And speaking of drinking, you can't even get ice water without paying. At $30 a plate, having to pay for water is an insult.
The "entertainment" is a distraction at best. I love half-naked women, but the music was so loud, it was actually uncomfortable to try and eat.
The meat is fair, but I'd rather go to a steakhouse...get ONE piece of meat cooked to my preference, and not become deaf by loud, bad, music.
Montreal has too many GOOD restaurants to waste your time and money on this bad idea.
We had 11 in party...no one said they wanted to go back....that says a lot.
This place has horrible service. I went there with 12 people besides being expensive they have nothing else to boast about. The meats are DRY and overcooked. The chicken is great as long as you like dark fatty pieces. Wasnt very happy. It was recommended to me by American Express poor place.
this place was horribel. the servers were terrible and they were disrespectful. they typed the bill wrong and we had to pay 200 dollars for food. unbelievabel. i will never come here agian, do you understand me. horribel, i say horribel. you guys suck. i will make your name look bad okay. bye.
