Louisiane (La)

Description

If the spirit of Cajun and Creole cuisine suits you, rather than a badge of authenticity, then this comfortable little space on busy Sherbrooke Street West is the spot for you. Decor is simple and tables are tight together, making for a warm, friendly place that buzzes right along. Main dishes include deliciously-textured crab cakes and grilled Shrimp Étouffe. The desserts, including an addictive bread pudding, are massive. Dinner for two, excluding wine and tip, comes to around CAD60.

Never Fails to Please
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/21/08
La Louisiane has won it's place in our Number 1 choice in dining. We've had the pleasure of visiting La Lou a number of times, sampling various dishes from the menu; never has the restaurant let us down. Never has it disappointed. The menu choices, the drinks, the staff and the ambiance make this more than a place to "grab a bite." From the wonderful menu choices, to the preparation, presentation and the meal itself; La Lou is a total dining experience. Highly recommended.

Best kept secret in Montreal for Spice lovers
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/8/08
This is the best restaurant that I've been to in Montreal. Although its location isn't in busy downtown it is worth the trip to N.D.G if you love spicy food. They have unique pastas and the best ribs in town. Go try it! A ++++

addicted

As soon as we (me and my girlfriends) walked in, we smelt the southern spice of new orleans and knew that this is were we wanted to be. We were greeted at the door and seated by amazing staff. This place was the find of our trip. The hush puppies, blacken fish, (giant)dinosaur beef ribs, New Orleans style BBQ shrimps were only what we could fit, followed a great selections of wine and desserts ... The atmoshere was delightfully warm and inviting. This will be the first of many trips to La Louisiane..... I recommend you head to NDG Sherbrook and taste New Orleans first hand, (might just be better)

Best Beef Ribs in Montreal
By Renee, 1/22/06
I've been looking all over Montreal for the perfect beef ribs and I finally found 'em. The meat falls off the bone. Tender, juicy and lots of flavour!!! Ask for a side of hot sauce and it's got a kick. Enjoy!!!

Amazing
By Andria, 1/1/06
La Lousiane is an excellent place to go on a date. The food is really delicious, the service is impeccable, the wine list is lenghty and reasonably priced, the desserts are to-die-for and the overall atmosphere is inviting. The dishes that are particularly good are the steak, the 'paneed' chicken and anything on the table d'haute menu is always especially delicious. As for appetizers, they are all special, for example, 'hush puppies' (fried corn bread) are a favorite and the sweet potato french fries are irresistable. I highyl recommend going to check it out for yourself. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
