This neighbourhood institution is best known for its well-prepared breakfasts and lunches, and has been at the same location since 1950. Offering a lunch counter and booths, they have recently doubled their previously cramped capacity. Breakfast starts at CAD2.50 and can run to CAD13.50 for fancier combinations of crepes, sausages, waffles and eggs. Fixed daily luncheon specials vary between CAD6.95 and CAD8.50, and might include roast leg of lamb, pasta, fillet of chicken or fillet of sole. Only cash payments are accepted.
Dusty's is a place where old and young alike meet daily for fresh hot coffee (which is excellent by the way), eggs, pancakes and people watching! This place makes the best french toast in Montreal!!
The owner is always there making sure everyone is getting proper service and you can even test out your artistic skills and make it to the wall of fame!
The prices are unbeatable too! Ask anyone about Dusty's and they'll tell you that it's the place to be.
This food is disgusting. Unless you like over-priced luke-warm, limp breakfast and burnt, but wet, toast. Why do people come here? I've had sour, expired yoghurt there on two occasions and cold (!) coffee once. ANY other breakfast joint in the same neighbourhood promises to be way better.
Dusty's is perhaps the most welcoming joint in the city, serving breakfast throughout its opening hours. Service is always young and an offbeat hip, the owner is regularly there and always smiling. Food is good and prices are appropriate - the perpetual breakfast special comes with a shot of fresh squeezed orange juice. There's plenty of space for smokers and non-smokers alike, but in this case it is very well divided and in the summer a nice wooden terrace opens. The atmosphere is very relaxed, the music is low and diverse and there is NEVER any pressure to leave. In short, its the best hangover spot in the city.
A recent move to the downtown area has not cramped this classic restaurant's style, thanks to continuity in both service
and decor. Many of the original waiters and stained glass panels have travelled with it. The menu includes a ...
