Petit Resto (Au)

Description

Food is the focus at this Northern-Plateau neighbourhood favourite. The traditional French bistro fare includes a wonderful steak-frites (around CAD15) and other rotating specialties. The table d'hôte is always under CAD20. The decor is minimal but not cold, which is perfect for a restaurant where the clientele has come only for the meal. This is one of a handful of excellent French restaurants in Montreal where you can bring your own wine, a policy that results in both good value on the menu and outstanding value in your glass.

Great little place
By ,
Cozy and friendly. The food is good and the service excellent. Perhaps a bit expensive for what you get but still worth the trip. I try to go 2 to 3 times a year.

not so good
By ,
well it cost about 26 to 28 $ by person and the food you get for that its not wort it!!! they put a lot of sauce just so you cant see what you are eating, i don't believe i will go back there, the only good thing it was the wine i bring over there... If you put something over your steak or your fish well , in good restaurant you don't put to much, you put small amount , but it must be perfect, was not the case over there..

A place to go in Montreal
One of the 10 best restaurent in Montreal. Simple, relax ambiance, no music. Incredible menu changing every week. Try their Bavette de Cheval, Sea food on season, exquise Maple Food pie. Go and you will see. Bring a good wine. It really worth it. Bring your wine and Guillaume and Ren will know how to taste it !

Talk about wine to Guillaume and Ren, owners !
Friendly!

Au Petit Resto - worth a visit
By ,
I've had the good fortune of dining at this restaurants several times over the last ten+ years. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly. The specials and the standard menu have always been excellent and it is fun to be able to bring your own wine (although I am no wine expert). The owner's recommendations have always been helpful and I have never been disappointed. Depending on where you are staying, the walk's not bad either.
