Chalet BBQ, Montreal

Well, I must confess that I'm really ashamed that I've been living 10 minutes away from the place and never heard of Chalet BBQ before (living under a rock, I know). If only they could advertize a bit... I went there yesterday for the first time (I'm 40) and I was blown away by the taste of their chicken! Highly recommended! St-Hubert BBQ lost 2 customers for good! Cheers!

I HAVE IT ON GOOD AUTHORITY THAT FOR A FEW YEARS NOW, THE FRIES HAVE BEEN PRESOKED MAKING THEM EASIER TO COOK SO I'M TOLD. IT ALSO ALLOWS THEM TO BECOME SOGGY IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, NOT UPTO MONTREAL STANDARDS. COME ON GIVE US SOME CRISPY FRIES TO GO ALONG WITH THAT GREAT CHICKEN

I am from NY and when I visit my family in Montreal, we always have chicken from the Chalet. It is amazing. The chicken is always moist and tender, the fries are fantastic, the sauce is phenomenal and goes great with everything. Also the cole slaw is wonderful. It is made with a vinegar dressing which is light and tasty. Magnifique!

I had my first bbq chicken dinner close to 50 years ago at this Montreal legend...I can still taste it even after having left Montreal to move south years ago...y'all better appreciate what it is to have a treasure like this restaurant in your fair city...this place invented the genre that Swiss Chalet has tried hard to reproduce...best wishes to all the lucky people who get to go here...wish it was just a little bit closer to me now. The best bbq chicken and fries with gravy at an even better price. Without a doubt. Go for the Boston Cream Pie for dessert!

Great food, excellent service. We got take-out and they gave my son a small bag of french fries to hold him over until the food was ready (and it didn't take long).

Their chicken necks are really good and free! The chicken is the best tasting in Montreal. And so is the sauce! U won't regret it!

Experienced, mature servers. Service is swift, because the chickens are continuously roasting; and yet, each one comes out perfect - not dry, not greasy. The BBQ sauce, unique to Quebec is tangy and perfect for the fries, chicken and bread. Family members usually fight over the skin. Atmosphere is cozy, but can be noisy, because they're always so busy. You never feel crowded in, though, and the service is NEVER slow. SOME OF THE WAITRESSES THERE WERE THERE WHEN I WAS A KID! I'M 39!!!!!

Going to the Chalet is part of our family traditions. Whenever any member of the family arrives from out-of-town, that is where we head. I recently was in Montreal visiting and was most disappointed that the restaurant was not yet open. It seems that whenever anyone calls, the opening will be in about a week's time. I hope that all the work is completed soon and that we can all enjoy a long-anticipated meal!!!!
