Not bad
By Ben Doon, 2/9/09
We go to Pino's a few times a year for lunch. We work in the area, it's great at lunch time. I love their pizza. I have has some pasta dishes there as well, and were pretty good. Portions are not big compared to the price. Their interior could use some renovations, most of their chairs are tattered :( Come on Pino, put your restaurant back on the A list ! Renovate and improve on the food a bit and people will be lining up again. I know, many have said that the food was not good there, and that it was overpriced.

I agree with the post commenting on the horrible food at Pino. I could not believe just how bad it was. It was surprisingly bad.

Don't be fooled by the quaint atmosphere
By BellJ, 8/12/08
My husband and I found ourselves stranded in Montreal for an evening after our outgoing flight was cancelled. Without much info on where to eat, we had a cab drop us off at the Hard Rock Cafe (going on the principle that a city's Hard Rock Cafe is usually located in a cool area). We weren't intending to eat at Hard Rock and instead looked around for some place that appeared nice and had a good menu. Pino appeared to be just that. Very quaint with a perched view of one of the cutest corners in the city. But don't be sucked in by the quaint corner view!!! The food was literally the WORST WE HAVE EVER HAD. $100 worth of absolute garbage. We found toward the end of our meal that by mixing his salmon alfredo and my frutti di mare with red sauce we created a tolerable pink sauce seafood dish. But for the love of Peter, if you're ever in Montreal, don't waste time mixing your food with your companion's, eat somewhere else!

The Worst in Montreal!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/25/08
This one the worst restaurant I have ever been to! The chicken I ordered was cold and my friend had found something in her plate! The waiter was soooo rude to us, as we were going to order our dessert he threw the billon our table! So since the service was horrible, the waiter was rude and the food was disgusting we left about 7 dollars of tip on about 60$ which isn't so bad! As we were leaving the waiter ran after us with our bill saying we didn't give enough tip in front of the whole restaurant. I still could not believe how horrible this experience was. I also know of many more bad experiences with this restaurant! STAY AWAY

Good
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/4/07
My boyfriend and I decided to celebrate our four year anniversary here because I read it was romantic. It is a stylish, nice place but I wouldn't say it's that romantic. What I liked is that the food seemed like it was good quality, and they give you a good amount. I appreciate the many vegetarian options being a veggie myself. We also had the chocolate mousse cake for dessert, which was ok. The service was fine. I guess my only criticism would have to be that I don't think it should be priced that high, because even though the food was good it wasn't worth that much money. The ambiance was also somewhat lacking, but maybe it was when we went cause it was pretty empty and not very romantic.

Avoid Pino at all costs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/29/07
We were a group of 30 with reservations on a Saturday night and had only one waiter! Took 30 mins to get our drinks, another 90 mins after that to get our food (Reservations at 8 pm and we only began eating at 10:30!). Food was OK at best and not worth the money. Waited over half an hour to receive our bills and once we did, it took another 30 minutes to pay!! A resturant located on Crescent should be better prepared. This place is so poorly run by a group of unprofessional waiters who give attitude to their annoyed patrons. AVOID PINO AT ALL COSTS! There are tons of better restaurants in Montreal. Your money will be better spent elsewhere.

I do not know how places like this survive...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/23/06
You wait for your order forever... The food is just (how should I describe) NOTHING. not bad not good. Your "salad" is something that you can jot down the ingredients without even tossing it with your fork... no spices, no salt, no taste... Whatever meat you order is ordinary cooked something that I can do at home without opening any cook book. Hence, the price You pay for not professional cooking and lengthy service is ridiculously high. Pino is the trap for wandering tourists...

horrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/28/05
We were a group of 10 and we waited almost 1 hour 1/2 for a table. when we did get served the waiter didn't even know who ordered what. Italian restaurants are usually the best at service but this one needs a LOT of work. We will never go back and I would hope you never have to go there.

Incredible atmosphere and view
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/26/04
A group of 30 of us walked in to this place on the corner of Crescent street without reservation and we were told to have drink at one of its bars and they would get us a table ready. Within 20 minutes we got our tables with 3 great waiters that amazed us with their service and kindness. If you are in Montreal PINO RISTORANTE is a must for those who enjoy excellent food, service and the view of Crescent st. is absolutly the very best.
