Scarlett Woods Golf Course
Description
Opened in 1974, Scarlett Woods Golf Course plays gentle enough for the beginner yet possesses tricky greens and water to make it a challenge for the low handicapper. From the white (back) tees the yardage is paced off at 3,749 and the par is 62. As the course is devoid of par fives, perhaps it might be best to leave the big dog in the trunk. There is a washroom/change room, a licensed restaurant and pro shop complete with club rentals.
Great value. Personable staff. Terrific for seniors and juniors and provides a challenge to the experienced golfer. Sometimes slow but the landscape and course architecture is inspiring.
The freindliest people, whether over the phone or in person. They always treat you like you belong, unlike some of the other city owned courses. Those other courses should learn from Scarlett Woods. Regards, OBJ
My 9 yr old son and I play every weekend. It is a great little course that takes 3 hours to play. Sometimes can get a little backed up. Very nice looking course with lots of character. My son likes the snack bar!
This course offers beginners a good feel for the game, and at the same time offers avid players a challenge. Even with no par fives.
Overall well designed excutive course with good service and products. I bought my first set of clubs from here.
Scarlett Woods is a great place to play a quick 9 after work. It's clandestine location goes almost unnoticed in it's city surroundings. It makes the most of it's limited space, offering challenging par 3's and the odd par 4. Lots of trees and strategically placed water hazards create a challenge for new and experienced golfers alike. The best part about it is the affordable cost and the friendly staff. For these reasons, Scarlett Woods will continue to be a personal favorite of mine.
