Redpath Sugar Museum
Renovated in 1996 to add new exhibits to the tour, this Harbourfront museum presents a collection of memorabilia from the Canadian sugar industry and the Red path family. Located in a converted bag storage warehouse, the Redpath Sugar Museum opened in 1979 to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the original site's founding in Montreal. Aside from the tour, there's an on-site theatre where Raising Cane, a film about sugar and the sugar industry, is shown. Special 90-minute guided tours are offered for school children as well.
As this museum is free, one definitely gets good value. The museum tells the story of the iconic Canadian company and sugar production in Canada quite well. Displays are mostly text-based so they may not interest younger people. The curator is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable.
