Jersey Giant, Toronto

I love the Jersey Giant,it was my favorite place to eat and relax in Toronto.Everybody was so great to us,Erica was our favorite she made it feel like home.Thank You! Gayle Walsh and Frank James,Lacombe Alberta.Canada.

I have been going to The Jersey Giant for over 25 years and have never been disappointed whatsoever. The price is right and the food is awesome.

point form notes: -the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting -the servers were friendly, fast, efficient and seemed to like working there -the food was yummy, well priced and had large portions -i'm going back

Finally came home from travelling and we had to go straight to The Jersey Giant from the airport for my favourite Cubano sandwich and wings. Better than we remembered and the staff always treats us like gold -fabulous pub, I wish they were all over the world!

This restaurant had quite possible the worst service I've ever experienced at a restaurant. I ordered a Greek Salad without tomatoes or onions, it came with tomato, so the lady took it back to the kitchen to me remade. ( Not a big deal) Then I got the salad back which had clearly been dumped out and picked apart. I took the first bite and wrapped all around my mouth was a huge knot of hair. I showed it to the waitress and she took it back to the kitchen. She then comes back to me and says that it could have been her hair, as if that would make it better. She barely apologized and was extremely defensive. Then she came back to the table and said that it could have been a corn husk because everything is prepared together. After looking at the menu and realizing there was no corn on it, I asked the lady what food had corn in it. She quickly responded " The specials" When I asked what the special of today was she said, " Well it doesn't necessarily have to be from today." The rest of the time she didn't even ask us how our food was and we had to ask another waiter to give us our cheque because she wouldn't even talk to us. It was horrible service!! Not to mention unclean if food from previous days would still be on the counter! It was totally hair and they couldn't even admit it. Turns out this lady was the manager! Horrible experience! Rude and Unapologetic.

The Giant is a great spot to go for dinner or just hang out and have a beer. What really makes the place though is the staff, always friendly and full of humour which makes the experience all the better. There used to be a fun young guy there named Justin, he was hilarious! I don't think he's there anymore but Stu, Wendell and the gang do a great job still.. Cheers

Next time i want to try the famous Giant Burguers ! Its already cheap, than on Wednesdays they have this half-priced giant burgues, now its insanity ! thats a good time to visit them.

This place is amazing. Its our "regular" and we have never had anything bad to eat. Although the booze puts your bill up in the prince range, the food is a good bang for your buck. Go for brunch on the weekends for the giant Belgin waffle or anytime for the all day breakfast.

I wrote the first review and not this one...it would appear that some of the pub's staff are taking a bit of artistic license.. IMO down on esplanade there are a couple of reasonable bars..nice food and drinks list with honest staff..Fiona McCools and Scotland Yard and next door (almost) to the Jersey there is C'est What..great beer list all canadian micro breweries..chocolate porter..drool... and at least its not Faux Brit..

It is relaxed, has friendly staff and great value! Everytime we've been the food has been great. The Fish & Chips never fail to disappoint!
