Hot food, cold service

Although the food was good, the rude waitress, who turned out to be the restaurant's owner, was not only burdened at having to serve us, but when I called her on the "fruit salad" that came with my French toast – it was a couple of berries, half a strawberry and a thin slice of grapefruit (two berries more than my date’s “garnish”), she snapped at me. And when we asked to substitute the homefries for sliced tomatoes, we were told we would be charged $2 extra because she said it was a "salad" substitute. When we substituted items the dozen or so times we were there in the past, the other servers probably knew it was ridiculous to charge two bucks for three thin slices of tomato.
Our less-than-accommodating server left us with a bad taste in our mouths. It wasn’t so much that the cost of a $9 breakfast kept ratcheting up, but the fact that someone in the service industry could be so unfriendly! We left and found a half dozen other brunch spots we could try.
My opinion: you can get a good meal almost anywhere, so you might as well go somewhere you’re actually appreciated.
