We are from Whitby and our Son and wife treated us to dinner here for my birthday, We had a party of six and found the mangager and staff very polite and helpful at helping us at deciding what to have and they made a wonderful choice for us. The food and service was just great. Would definitely come again, M.Willetts Whitby, Ontario.
I have been to Casa Barcelona every week since it opened!
There is no other place like it on earth!
Great food that has evolved as tastes have, wine to die for at any price to fit your mood or pocket, service by the family for the family.
I will be there this week and every week until I die!
My Wife and I went to this place for our friends B-Day. They had been before and enjoyed it. We had a party of 9 so the manager added a 15% gratuity which is reasonable for larger parties. We ordered numerous tapas - 37 by the waiters count, but we did not recive any mussels and we ordered at least 2. Perhaps they did not think we would miss them? We started off by ordering a nice 1999 rioja - 2 bottles. The waiter opened the first but not the second. We did not care for it so we sent the unopened one back and got another one. It was better so we asked for a 2nd. For a total of 3 bottles.
When the bill came it was $1034.00. We paid $140 in cash and split the remainder 3 ways. The tip was included already but he manager filled in an extra $40 tip on each of the 3 credit card slips for a total of $346.00. It should have been $298.00 times 3. First off, the tip was included. If I thought the service was better, I would have added some. I do not appreciate him filling it in for me. We had to discuss the math with the manager for about 15 minutes before he would agree he was wrong. It wasn't even close. In the end he gave us back $30 in cash and erased the tip on the c.c. slips.
Only when we were at a lounge later laughing over the whole incident and looking at the Bill, did we realize we also paid for 4 bottles of wine.
I liked the food, however due to the shifty Manager, I will not go back.
a group of 10 of us had a great time for our birthday! I was a little worried when I read the other review about the gratuity but we did not get charged for any children and our tip was added before the tax. Maybe a scorned customer? Overall, the idea of sharing tapas was so fun,the food was great, and service was friendly. We've actually booked for new year's.
Good food and great atmosphere, we were excited at the thought of going back.... UNTIL...read your bill carefully... They charged us an extra adult fee for the 8 month old baby who was present but didn't eat, and charged a $20 fee to use 10 dessert plates for the birthday cake we brought for our friend's celebration. They also charge a mandatory tip on the whole bill amount after tax, instead of before tax. No response from the management yet. We want to go back, but are afraid to be overcharged again.
