Babur Restaurant
Description
With a name recalling the first Mogul emperor in India, one would expect only the finest northern Indian cuisine at this Queen Street West restaurant. You also receive impeccable service from formally clad waiters in black and white, in an atmosphere that is at once sophisticated and casual. Tandoori is definitely the order of the day, with everything from traditional chicken and bread to vegetables coming from the tandoor oven. Vegetarian dishes such as shashlik paneer and eggplant bharta range from CAD6.95-8.95 while chicken dishes come in at around CAD10-14.
It was nice windy night in toronto when i with my friend were searching for a ncie indian restuarant for curbing my spicy taste.
On queen's st according to the information which i checked on yahoo travel we found the Babur, a nice cosy plcae with enogh of space for at least 20 peoples at a time to serve. As soon as we enter we were greeted and then lead to our tables .The arrangement on the table was fine ,i wondered having forks and knives in an indian restaurant as its literally diffcicult to eat roti with forks.
Babur did had a great range of vegtarian food to non veg groups .Also they did have a nice range of proper apptizers .Intresting thing was papad was given as a side dish whihc was nice as a token of love.
The food whihc we order was definatley nice and tasty .But what surprises me that the whole restaurnt was full with peoples all the time though it was not sunday night.Secondly we had water constantly served by coper jars whihc added beauty to the indian foods.
I guess i would advice that though a nice restaurnt a place were you need ot tell the chef about the amount of spices you require is important as some times the spices are too much.
enjoyyyyyyyy!!!!
I have eaten at Babur many times over the past several years and the quality and consistency of food & service have always been superb. The dishes are both inventive and traditional.
