Description

Located in Yorkville and close to the major downtown attractions, this restaurant has gone back to the basics with offerings of pizza and pasta. The mood is casual, and the service friendly. There's bar service to 2a and, although the main kitchen closes at 11p, there's often a chance of getting pizza and pasta until 2a. The thin crust pizza is gourmet all the way with offerings ranging from the traditional Margherita to Marinara with Calamari, Shrimps and Baby Clams. Meat and fish specials are also offered.

The food at Dimmi's has to be the best food I have tasted in a very very long time. It was tasty, light and just the right amount. Perfect for an evening out with friends or family. The service was excellent, friendly staff, just a wonderful little restaurant. If you haven't been, you should try it. You know the food is excellent when you use a piece of bread to soak up all the pasta sauce. (Pasta was cooked to perfection) I can't wait to go back. Thanks for a lovely evening among friends. The tirami su was to die for... js

We can't wait to NEVER go back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/11/07
It was an overall awful experience. Started off with drinks, calamari, and bread. I can't believe my cosmopolitan martini costed $10+ when it tasted like nail polish. The calamari was VERY salty, almost like they are trying to cover the lack of good taste. The bread arrived cold and tasteless, kind of like cardboard. The olive oil was just oil; the vinegar was, I don't even want to go there. I had Fettucine Alla Riveira, which raised the bar for a new type of disgusting. How disappointing when I thought this was an "authentic italian" restaurant! The house special, Dimmi Pizza was more salty than salt itself, it also tasted like cardboard. The only thing that was acceptable was the water, which took me numerous times to order. It could be due to the volume of people that day, but the waiters seemed to chat away with their co-workers instead of serving the paying customers. My drink sat at the bar for at least 5 minutes before it was brought over, warm. The check was $200+ for 4 people, I don't think I need to comment on that. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It's much easier to get better tasting food for that price anywhere else. I regret going there, I think I might have been better off going to Dominion and purchase some frozen dinner. Oh, to get to the washroom on the second floor you have to walk up a narrow staircase, so drunk people or people taking care of the woozy, throwing up outside would be a quicker, safer, and much more convenient choice! You can disagree and find out yourself, I sincerely hope you manage to have a good time but I sure didn't!

Disgusting bathroom!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/28/07
I went there this evening for diner and will NEVER go back! First of all my chair was right behind where they log the orders and a knife fell over my shoulder. The waiter picked it up and didn't apologize. The bathrooms are under renovation so there was a line upstairs. Ok, it's understandable that they are under renovation but the one bathroom they had was FILTHY! I have seen better bathrooms in McDonalds and it disgusted me. There was no toilet paper. What bothered me most is when I told the waiter the bathrooms was filthy he responded, "I don't appreciate that comment".Good gawd! When you go out to dine and spend over $150.00 you have some expectations don't you?
