Opened in 1996, this restaurant in the uptown Yonge - Eglinton area is committed to simple yet elegant Italian cuisine. Partner-chef Andrew Milne-Allan gives customers the countryside-version of Italian splendour, a combination of warm hospitality and upscale dining. Dishes include Roast Quail in White Wine, Pomegranate Juice and Grilled Polenta, Homemade Squid Ink Pasta with Seafood Sauce and Sauteed Veal Cutlet. There is a Sunday prix fixe dinner, which offers three courses (salad, any fresh homemade pasta and dessert).
This was simply the best Italian food we have ever experienced in this city.
From seafood crostini and artichoke salad to homemade pasta with oxtail ragout and a perfectly grilled sea bream (served whole!), every bite was bliss!

Outstanding homemade pasta, cooked to perfection with just the right amount of bite, fresh and flavorful. Wonderful complimentary starter. Inventive combinations using the freshest seasonal ingredients. Friendly staff and attentive service. Feels like home but the food is even better. This is a restaurant that cares what you think and wants you to leave satisfied and return often. We will.
The service was excellent from the moment you enter the door - no, even before when you call for a reservation. The food is amazing - they do not overdue it - perfect flavours without attempting to "fuse" anything - they don't need to. Value far and above others in its range - not many in its class. My wife and determined it will be our "occasion" spot...we are currently thinking up new occasions in addition to the regulars of birthday, anniversary, dog's first good fetch etc. etc.
