Royal Canadian Mint
The mint has been producing Canadian coinage since 1908. Although coins in circulation are now struck at the mint in Winnipeg , Manitoba, special commemorative coins, tokens and medallions are still struck here. Take the popular and extremely interesting guided tour, offered alternately in French and English. Call ahead for times, as they change seasonally.
The mint is a fun place to visit for kids and adults. You can see how coins are made and look around in the giftshop to see what kinds of coins they have. I recommend it as a site to see if you ever happen to be in Ottawa.
The tour was excellent! The tour guide was very professional and informative. You will be impressed with our great quality coins Canada makes. The store in the mint was very interesting with all the different coins you could buy.
