Located on lively Elgin Street, this funky cappuccino, juice, gelato and dessert bar is as colorful as the gelato it serves. Planned by an industrial designer to resemble a sherbet-colored factory, the bar offers more than two dozen flavors of homemade gelato in cones, cups, frappes and shakes —all are made with fresh fruit and Italian cream. Friendly staff, bright halogen lights and upbeat music make it impossible not to be cheerful here. Patrons can also choose from a variety of specialty coffees, fruit smoothies, biscotti, chocolates and flavored tartufo. Cash and debit cards only.

I love this place! since discovering it 3 weeks ago, I am always looking for people to accompany me. The first time I went, my friend and I were the only ones in line so we got to talk to the girl behind the counter and she gave us the lo-down on the place - like how everything is pureed right in the store, you can mix-and-match different flavours. I love the atmosphere and the taste .. watermelon is the best! :)

Best Gelato!!!!!!!

We stayed on Cooper and Elgin Street while we were visiting Ottawa and we're so glad that Pure Gelato was so close to us! We were attracted at first by the look of the store from outside, and after we tried their gelatos, we knew we have to go back before we left ottawa. I like the passion fruit flavor most and my bf like soy vanilla the most. And they have soooo many other flavors that I wish I could've tried before I left!!! good food, great service

My wife and I were visiting Ottawa from Atlanta and my nephew took us out for dinner on the town. We popped into Pure Gelato after seeing a line up from outside to see what all the fuss was about. The gelato was great, my wife loved that it was and tasted much lighter than normal ice cream. The girls behind the counter were all smiles and complete sweethearts. Great customer service. expand the chain

I loved the atmosphere in this place - it was a retro 60's style. The staff was very friendly and offerred to split my one scoop of gelato into 3 flavours since I was having trouble deciding which flavour I wanted. I would definately go again the next time I am in beautiful Ottawa. They should expand the chain.....

These are outstanding Gelatos!
It`s like a dream come true!
