A Chefs Experience
I dined for the first time at The Merlot, on Oct.12th, and would definetely go back. I had heard of the new menu, so, along with a close friend, decided to go and try the new menu out. It did not dissapoint.
For starters I had the mushroom soup. It's name is something different, which I can't remember, but it was exquisite. Very tasteful, and well presented in tasteful new china servers which were taken from the table to avoid clutter. Attention to detail was appreciated.
The main course was the 14oz Angus beef rib-eye steak. The steak was fantastic and my only complaint, if it is even that the steak was a tad dry in the very middle, hardly even worth mentioning. Other than that, the steak was one of the best I've ever had. The demi was very good. Not too salty, a risk with demi. The veg on the side was nicely done, and the potatoes were rationed perfectly.
To finish things off, my friend had the Creme Brule and I the ice cream and sherbert combination. Both were very good. I am certain I got the names wrong of the deserts, but it's the review that counts, right?
Service was very good as well. The waiter was very attentive, and both the Chef and the restaurant manager came to see us at our table to ensure the experience was a memorable one.
