Oregano's Restaurant

We ate here in Sep 08. Service was horrible. Waitress ignored us most of the time we were there. Requests for beverage refills were ignored and appetizers never arrived. Finally, when I checked my credit card statement a few weeks later, I realized that the waitress had changed my 5% tip to a 10% tip. I was outraged and called the restaurant. The manager refused to speak to me about the matter (said this was restaurant policy - hmmmm good indicator that I am not the first this has happened to) and insisted that if I wanted any satisfaction, I needed to speak to the Credit Card company (who credited my account for the amount the waitress stole from me). I have read that the restaurant is being bought by another businessman and will become a different restaurant. Good riddance!

I actually have always liked the lively atmosphere at this place. Ok, the food is not gourmet, but it is edible and it serves up standard favourites. It is no worse really than East Side Marios. In my experience, the service has been fine.

I don't know what happened, but the staff totally ignored us after seating us. They didn't even take our drink ordered (the table next to us who were seated later got drinks and had even placed their food orders!) It's as if the staff went out of their way to make me feel totally unwelcome. I left without anyone trying to stop me or apolegizing for my treatment.

when we first went to oregano's we fell in love with it. there pizzas were amazing i have been going there ever since it opens and it's still tasteing good

It has been years we hadn't been to Oregano's in Ottawa because of our last experience but we decided to give it a try yesterday night. Deception! Although the service was around the average, the food was well below our expectations: very small quantity, no taste and high prices. My daughter's spaghettis were floating in the water. They did not offered any desserts or coffee, however, we would have declined - we had enough. Please think it twice before heading for a table at this restaurant, value for money is certainly not there!

This place is good with the obvious "By-ward Market" flaws. We were a walk in 25 that alone is a feat for any restaraunt to handle. Our servers were very atentive and the food was pricey but quite good. In all the whole party was very pleased especialy the children. Who mind you are very hard to feed in the Market since not many places will acomodate them. I will return.

Food was cold Pasta was overcooked, small portions we Spent $200 for party of 5. Wait staff was unattentive and rude. Waitress spilt all our drinks on us with no apology. 1 hour wait from placing order to arrival. Cold. Appetisers were cold. Please try other restaurants in the market. Stay away from OREGANO'S......

The service at this place is excellent. I had a short brunette who was very attentive and sweet and made us feel very welcome. The food was pretty good, a little pricey, but that's what you get in the market. If you want cheap, go to McDonalds. The only negative thing I'd have to say about it was the horrible tablecloths! Overall I highly recommend going to the patio for some drinks and a nice dinner.

PASTA WAS OVERCOOKED AS WAS THE STEAK .. THEY GAVE US A 10 PERCENT DISCOUNT BUT IT DIDINT MATTER ..TRY ANY OTHER RESTAURANT IN THE MARKET AREA .

the pasta was burnt. When the manager was called, even after the waiter said it was burnt did nothing. Keep away. Try something else
