Mamma Teresa Ristorante, Ottawa

Mamma Teresa is a wonderful restaurant! On April 14, 2011 I had to organize a retirement luncheon for 50+ people with only 10 minutes notice as the other restaurant (Full House) I had made arrangements went bust and nobody told me until I showed up to decorate 15 minutes before the party. I ran down the street to Mamma Teresa, and not only were they able to accommodate us all - the service they provided was excellent. The food was really great, the prices very reasonable, and the atmosphere was super. Everyone really enjoyed the food and the experience, and we were all very happy to have made the last minute switch to this great restaurant. The staff is all very professional and courteous and the Manager was fantastic! They certainly won over some new customers from our gang after that great dining experience – well done!

My girlfriend and I had a great experience at Mamma's on a Sunday (where you can get a 4-course meal for both and a bottle of wine for 85$ total!), and will surely be going back soon. There are very few places left that have this much cachet and authenticity. The waiters were great, super friendly, and made sure our experience was fantastic. Prices were reasonable and the portions were amazing. Nice wine list too, lots of private reserves. The owner even took us down to the cellar to help up pick a perfect wine! Apparently it's always full, and I can see why.

I was a little reluctant to go to this restaurant as I didn't hear good things but I was invited to a party there. Well dont' always believe what you hear because there were 12 of us for dinner and the food was excellent, all came out hot, and our waiter was magnificient. It was a very busy night but the service was great. I'd recommend this restaurant for sure. June 26/09.

This restaurant is a piece of history. Most Canadian political intrigues have been hatched here. This would be enough to warrant a visit. However, the food is actually good and the ambiance is excellent. You get the feeling that people are scheming to unseat the Prime Minister at the next table. It could be a little less costly but overall it is certainly worth going to. The best Italian place in Ottawa!

The food was good and the ambiance also. we had to wait for 45 minutes to get served and then additional time to get the bread. 5 minutes after the bread came, we recieved the butter.... and this is how the whole meal looked like. bad service- wouldn't replace the dishes we didn't like and even when they made a mistake the waiter argued that there's nothing he can do. forgot to bring dessert that was part of a combination meal.when we reminded him he said their fridge didn't work and offered half the dessert without even thinking of compensating for it. This restaurant looks very fancy but service is worse than a diner. Just don't go- eat somewhere else!

Le repas était excellent, l'ambiance chaleureuse et le serveur était un fin connaisseur de vin. Nous n'avons pas eu besoin de toucher la bouteille de vin!! Nous avons mentionné quel genre de vin nous aimons, et le vin qui nous a été suggéré était plus que parfait.

Good place relative to Ottawa standards. Far from a Montreal restaurant settings where the food is much better. Their attitide is to be unflexible when putting together a menu for a large number of people. In the Ottawa downtown region there are no good Italian restaurants so they stand out out until another Italian restaurant opens in the area. Then they will eat their lunch Guarenteed. Preston has better value than this restaurant.

This restaurant has fine food, the house is charmnig, lighting is soft and the service is top of the line, they never leave you unattended for too long and they don't bother you every second. They deffinately are at your service! The Linguini Marcella with grilled vegetables was AMAZING, the sauce had so much falvor and the veggies were phenomenal. My partner had Gnocchi Gorgonzola, the sauce is so creamy and hase such a great taste it melts in your mouth. Pasta was made fresh, not dry pasta. The appetizers of Bruschetta was fine and the italian salad was fresh and light on the pallet, the marinated olives in roasted garlic and olive oil were unlike I ever tasted. Thanks Nathalie

Had lunch at Mamma Teresa's after an absence from Ottawa of 18 years. The welcome, ambience, food and friendly service were just as I remembered, excellent. I have to visit Ottawa more often. John Clay

the service and the food was great and the people we were with they injoyed their wine and I would recomend the dinner for two include antepasto and salad and fish or meat and dessert and coffee.
