Hooker's Beavertails, Ottawa

There is no better Canadian food than a BevaerTail. If the temperature is below 40 and you need something warm, try a BeaverTail. You won't regret it.

I tried a tail once and it wasn't that great. Very sugary and fatty. I think it is a nice idea though and they could sell them half the size. I just haven't been back because the whole cleaniless issue concerns me. The place doesn't look too clean.

If you go to Canada in general, Ottawa in particular, and you have not had a Beavertail, then you really haven't been to Canada. It is just about the best part of any trip to Canada, and just thinking about it makes me wish I had one right now! Crispy, chewy, and so tasty, if you're a parent, it is a snack you'll want your kids to have. Anybody who doesn't like Beavertails is not human. Can I say too many great things about this place? Nope!

I live in Montreal and I go directly to this place because of the cheese and garlic beaver tail. Its so yummy! Not too many seats outside but still really nice.

The best food I ever tasted! Make sure to get one if you see a beavertails anywhere. I just think they need one in Windsor,ON , because I want one everyday!!!!

Beavertails are a great snack, summer or winter. They now have lots of variety in selection, too -- from chocolately sweet stuff to tasty garlic bread or pizza-like tails! Whether you grab them at their "main location" in the Bytown Market, or you take a breather from a good skate on the Rideau Canal (they usually have two or three stalls right on the ice!), you're sure to be satisfied by the experience of your first beavertail. (The main location has more variety in selection than the other kiosks, but you'll still be happy with the choices -- I know my wife and I always are!) Definitely worth a try or ten when in Ottawa -- a local favourite!
