Drala Books & Gifts, Ltd, Halifax

This little store in downtown Halifax is an incredible find. The intent of the owners, which they were quite happy to share with me, was to enrich or uplift every facet of a person's environment, and it was just like that! For the mind, books and and practice materials for meditation (cushions, gongs, fine Japanese incense); for the body, yukatas from Japan, pashminas from Nepal, silk scarves from Laos, Chinese furniture, Japanese tea sets and dinnerware; and for listening pleasure a unique selection that ranged from Chinese erhu to Spanish bolero - and they'll play it for you. That's just a little of what they have, really, there are also tasteful tabletop fountains, shoji screens - I could go on and on, but you should find this treasure yourself!
