BC Place Stadium is downtown's gigantic stadium and home to the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics. Its claim to fame is that it is the world's largest air-supported dome. It opened in 1983 and was constructed with enough concrete to build a sidewalk from this city to Tacoma, Washington. From July to November, it plays host to the Canadian Football League's BC Lions. It also holds concerts and trade and consumer shows like the Pacific International Auto Show and the BC Home & Garden Show. The stadium also holds the BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum.
