Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Center has become one of the biggest in North America. Inside you'll find more than 8,000 aquatic animals, hailing from as far away as the Arctic and the Amazon. The newly opened Pacific Canada Pavilion contains a living exhibit that interprets issues facing marine life of the Georgia Straight. The main attractions, however, are the orca, beluga and dolphin shows. Check website for pricing details.

Over crowded and fire hazard!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/25/09
The day we went here there were so many people they were stepping over my daughter while in the stroller!after 20 minutes of trying to fight to look into a tank my husband picked the stroller up over his head and we had to fight our way to the exit! BIG waste of money!I'll never return!

First overseas trip
By Anne, 05/30/09
I come from Australia and loved the Aquarium at Vancouver and at Nassau (Atlantis). At Vancouver I saw the raptar bird show and the dolphin show. Saw the baloga whales, one was pregnant and the other had just calved. That was excellent. Food was great, loved the three bins for recycling and rubbish. Bought my photo taken at the door with sea life background, and bought heaps of souveniers at the gift shop. Totem pole at front of aquarium was awesome.

been there done that!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/14/07
I have been to Science world so many times as a kid that it kinda isn't that fun for me anymore... i haven't been for about three years or so but it never seems to change for me. I would recommmend it though for people with young children there is plenty to do for them.

Fish great, needs cleaning
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/23/07
We are locals and went to the aquarium yesterday with our niece who is visiting from out of town. The fish were great, however the place needs cleaning. Even my 15 year old neice noticed. The floors were dirty and everything was sticky and it was not fresh smelling. There was only one relatively clean washroom. The new expansion was a disappointment.

A Holiday of a Life Time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/06/07
Theres nothing not to like in Canada. I started in Toronto, visited Niagra Falls then carried on to Vancouver by train (Canada Via), and I enjoyed every minute, there wasn't enough hours in a day. I do have one question: Could you let me know the names of the two Otters that are always holding hands (I mean PAWS) and how long they've been together.Thankyou. Tony.

Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/19/06
This place was a disappointment. It is quite small (though that is not the reason that we didn't like it), the displays are not great, and it is definitely not worth the hype. The dolphin show is mediocre, though the beluga whale show is refreshing. The tropical area is pretty ok.

one of the best around
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/16/06
i visit a lot of aquariums, this is the largest in canada, and well worth the visit. Big tanks, lots of great sightings, espeically the rainforest section. You literally walk through a mini rain forest with butterflies swarming around your face, a sloth sleeping in the corner, and birds flying around. Quite an experience. Perfect for kids and adults.

Worth visiting
By Jacqueline L, 06/15/06
The only down side about this place is that the size of the Aquarium is not as big as I would have thought. Although I understand that they are undergoing expansion which will be completed in 2007. It is definitely a place to bring the kids along.
