Prospect Point an oasis in Stanley Park with something for everyone
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/9/06
I recently visited the Prospect Point Lookout in Stanely Park with my wife Cherie and our lab. We hiked the trails up from the seawall which were the most challenging in the park - a terrific workout. After that, we needed to rest, and discovered that the Prospect Point Cafe also opened up a new Lions Gate Bar perched on the cliff overlooking the Lions Gate Bridge. We had a few appies, drinks and then the Wild Salmon Sampler with 5 different salmons strips (Pesto, Ginger/Garlic, simply grilled, teriyaki and maple glazed) and it was divine. Turned out to be the highlight of our park visit. As if that wasn't enough, we then discovered the new Fudge Factory that they recently opened. We sampled many but ended up buying a 1/2 pound of pralines & cream, both our favourites. We shopped a bit in the beautiful store and trading post, bought some ice wine tea, which we ended up drinking that evening (and it was delicious)... and needless to say our walk was over. We got on a double decker bus and rode out of the park, but had a lovely time at Prospect Point. Highly recommended.
