Osaka Teppanyaki Steak & Seafood House

Description

The art of Teppanyaki cooking involves the preparation of cuisine out in the open. After the culinary entertainment, find a meal complete with vegetables, soup, salad and shrimp. A complimentary Mustard or Ginger Teppan sauce accompanies every meal. The best way to experience all the flavors is to combine dishes. An excellent combination is the Sirloin Steak and Thailand Tiger Prawns. The atmosphere is festive and the decor is typically Japanese: bright, minimalist and airy.

Was not impressed
By ,
We were not impressed with the level of customer service, the food or the way we were treated. I did not find that we got our moneys worth. I'd much rather go to Kobe even with it being a little higher price. You definately get what you pay for.

Not worth it
By ,
I have been to alot of teppanyaki places. The cook there wasn't worth the $25-40 meals. I could of gone to a the mall and ordered it from the japanese teppanyaki and still would of have the same food and show. Nothing special..... I rather go to KOBE, they are more higher class for the same price and way better service. They do a bit more talking, a little more showy with the flames. I have gone to Osaka twice, both time had to wait 30-1 hour before they started cooking, after the meal, waiting another 30 mins for the bill..... Im sure the people that rated with5 stars are people that just love to cover there rice with the ginger sauce.... As I'm a chef myself I know what is to be expected.... and I wasn't pleased with this restaurant. KOBE- went to twice, great service, same price as Osaka, but look more higher class. Within 20 mins max if the table is not full they start cooking.

Great food and entertainment value
By ,
We live in Kitsilano and have been to Osaka many times usually for a birthday celebration. It's a great locale for a group of 10 - the chefs are great. Owner Johnny worked at Kobe. I found Kobe to be dark, crowded and dirty. The last time I was there we shared a table with some of the Hells angels - I won't go back. their prices are much higher than Osaka for the same thing. I found the chefs at Osaka entertaining and we have never waited when we have had a reservation. Not sure what the problem is with the other people.

ouch!

This place isn't the best...I've had better teppanyaki food in Vancouver. The seafood isn't too great and it's not very fresh. Just because they put on a little show when cooking, doesn't mean the taste will be as exciting.

salty food with overrated price
By ,
ironically, none of chefs are Japanese in this so-called Japanese sea food and steak house. Our chef has no knowleage about any Japanese food and doesn't speak Japanese as well. Never answer any question about Japanese cooking. Why do we go this restaurant to taste non-Japanese cooked Japanese food? the food was overrate charged in term of value service and atmosphere. I ordered the lobster and steak meal, but the lobster was mashed and not fresh. I asked chef to change but he said that was OK. Also, a lot of rowdy customer next our table were loud talker. This restaurant should be shut down long time ago.

Savoury flavor, mouth watering taste!
By ,
Osaka is an exceptional fine dine cuisine experience. If you have ever wondered what it is they do when they cook your food in the back kitchen, you will get to experience it right before your eyes. The welcoming service staff makes you feel like home and the quality of the food will leave your lips savouring for your next experience. Absolutely tantalizing! Would recommend to all seafood lovers and steak lovers! Sidenote: Get a lot of the hot mustard sauce~ it's addicting.

I shall return !
By ,
I loved the menu selection and the fact that my guests and I could share and taste different variety of foods. Service and food were great. Their chefs were wonderful cooks with skill and good humour that kept our table entertained. It was a place I took some business associates to and we all had a great time. It was a good reflection on me as well.
