Osaka Teppanyaki Steak & Seafood House, Vancouver

ironically, none of chefs are Japanese in this so-called Japanese sea food and steak house. Our chef has no knowleage about any Japanese food and doesn't speak Japanese as well. Never answer any question about Japanese cooking. Why do we go this restaurant to taste non-Japanese cooked Japanese food? the food was overrate charged in term of value service and atmosphere. I ordered the lobster and steak meal, but the lobster was mashed and not fresh. I asked chef to change but he said that was OK. Also, a lot of rowdy customer next our table were loud talker. This restaurant should be shut down long time ago.

I went to Osaka for the first time the other day. The food was fantastic, and the chefs were very entertaining. However my party of 4 got sat with about 15 very rowdy older men. Throughout the night, I listened to them yell at each other across the table and swear so loud I couldn't keep a conversation going. At one point, two of the men stood up and unbucked their belts, unzipped their pants, and began to pull down their boxers as they were having some sort of arguement about their genitals. Throughout this, the staff treated them like a bunch of adorable, hard to handle, rowdy children. I have never once been to a restaurant where there staff had such disregard for the well-being of their patrons. It was also the first time where I got up from a delicious meal wanting to throw a punch.

I've enjoyed this restaurant and the fine flavours it offers for many many years and would recommend it to anyone who would enjoy the best japanese steak and seafood dining experience.

I am not a king, and i dont expect to be treated like one. I pay no more then $35 for food and drinks and am stuffed after dinner. I might have to wait an extra minute for the bill, but who cares? I have been all around the world and eaten at the top resteraunts and steak house around north america. Osaka is not going to provide the service or a mortons or gothams, but will easily exceed the taste for half the price. I used to be a regular at kobe 15 years ago, until my family discovered osaka. I dont remember a family celebration that has not taken place at this resteraunt. So if your looking for a fun environment and the best tasting food known to mankind, go to osaka, you wont be disapointed, unless of course you need to have the waiter put your napkin on your lap.

We live in Kitsilano and have been to Osaka many times usually for a birthday celebration. It's a great locale for a group of 10 - the chefs are great. Owner Johnny worked at Kobe. I found Kobe to be dark, crowded and dirty. The last time I was there we shared a table with some of the Hells angels - I won't go back. their prices are much higher than Osaka for the same thing. I found the chefs at Osaka entertaining and we have never waited when we have had a reservation. Not sure what the problem is with the other people.

Concerned about the bad reviews, we attended Osaka this evening with grave concerns. We even pre chose other places that we would go to if the Reviews were close to correct. Well The folks that have written the reviews should perhaps expand their knowledge of fine food or stick to the Fast Food Burger Joints. We were greeted with immediate smiling attention, Seated and within a few minutes were served. The Chef was extremely skilled and honoured us with his sense of humour and fabulous talent in slicing the varied vegetables, steak and seafood with tiger prawns. The late Suehiros of Richmond and Kobe would love to scout this fellow. The entire meal was more than satisfying with the Steak literally melting in your mouth. True you don't get $45.00 ambience but you definitely get the service and the meal you wanted......and that is why we went out for Dinner!!!

I've been to this restaurant several times and have never had a bad experience. The ambiance is maybe not as nice as Kobe but the food is fresh and the service and overall value is excellent. Can't believe that some people here actually gave it a bad rating. My wife and I both raved after our latest visit there.

We were not impressed with the level of customer service, the food or the way we were treated. I did not find that we got our moneys worth. I'd much rather go to Kobe even with it being a little higher price. You definately get what you pay for.

This place is great, great people if you researve a table ask for oliver or Roland. Kobe is way too over raited and found their service to be worse.
