Rodney's Oyster House

Description

Simple, fresh food in a casual setting. Situated in a revamped turn-of-the-century warehouse, this place has concrete floors, stainless steel oyster bars and counters, and a nautical feel. It is usually filled with casual young professionals finished slaving away at film industry or tech jobs in the area. There are oysters aplenty, from $1 for local varieties to $3 for Cape Cod imports. Malpeques and Cotuits are the house favourites. Try the cream and booze-laden clam chowder. Beer and wine are the beverages of choice here.

..eat me raw?
By Gerry, 5/15/08
Perfect spot for a bite to eat at lunch or dinner. Great tasting oysters served with my favorite condiments. Also I've tried the location in Toronto. They are consistently good and fresh. I might have to pick up their logo t-shirt on my next visit.

Never again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/7/08
Four of us had a reservation that was nearly ignored when we arrived while the hostess was busy seating what appeared to be 'friends of the establishment who didn't have a reservation.' When we pointed to an empty table upstairs, we were told it was 'taken'. 20 Minutes later it was still empty and finally, most reluctantly, we were seated there. It was such a downer that it took us most of the evning to overcome the depression that had set in! Never again!

Wish we there again tonight!!

The food and fun at Rodney's is an absolute must while you're in Vancouver. There are many great choices in Yaletown, but if you like oysters, great mains and enjoy the banter of a truly professional staff, don't pass up the chance to dine at Rodney's. We can't wait to go back...

Great service. Really knowledgable about the seafood. Very unique restaurant. Way better than Joe Fortes. I will go back there again and again. Very good looking waiters.

Californians going north
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/1/05
We stumbled on Rodney's a couple of years ago and have been back every time we are in Vancouver. The food is fantastically fresh, well presented, great value, and a place you feel at home in in jeans or dressed up. Far more than oysters available, although they're my personal favorite.
