Teahouse Restaurant (The), Vancouver

This was the first time my wife and I had visited the Tea House in Stanley Park. We approached the desk ( awaiting a table !!) and the two receptionists were engaged in a personal conversation while we just stood there as if we did NOT exist. The conversation lasted for a full 2 minutes......

This restaurant has a nice setting and the staff is very good. As the evening wore on to around 8:00pm, it became very noisy and unpleasant. The food was average which was a surprise for a chef with a long-standing history. I was expecting the mainfare menu to provide these foods with a twist or something more sophisticated than hotel style delivery. Undoubtedly, people go for the view and matched with good service, this makes it a pleasant enough place to eat, although I think the price demands a little more focus on the food. The washroom (single only !) was a big surprise. Something like a cross between someone's out-dated home bathroom and a 1970's service station. Not unclean or untidy, just requiring major updating. I thought I was in my aunt's bathroom in N.B. - completely out-of-character for this restaurant.

the teahouse has the best position and view of vancouver,it's a very charming place. a must for lovers! and it can happen,as was for us,that you hear a strange sound which is a rackoon who's knocking at the window!

What a way to top off my visit to Vancouver. The view was magnificent and the atmosphere delightful. My midwest frugalness was blown away by prices, but it was well within excepted standards for the quality. The food was exceptional in taste and well presented. I would definitely recommend the experience to anyone.

I used to eat @ the teahouse regularly before my shift would start and some of the food was excellent. The staff was well picked out and had a true value of respect for mankind! God bless you all! :~)
