Martini's Whole Wheat Pizza
Since 1973, this casual establishment has been making thin crust pizza from whole wheat stone-ground flour. It has a selection of unusual toppings, such as Smoked Oysters, Barbecued Chicken, Artichokes, Potatoes, Feta and Broccoli. The decor features wood accents and greenery, while a sidewalk patio lets you soak in sunshine during spring and summer. Steak, Rib and Chicken comes with Green Salad, Garlic Bread and Baked Potato or Rice. Sandwiches, Pastas and Stir-Fries are also on the menu.
Although this amazing restaurant is in a somewhat small location, the owners of martinis make the best of it. the food is so good and reasonably priced. the pizza especailly is to die for. the service is excellent and even without reservations the wait usually isn't that long, seeing as this is one of vancouver's hidden secrets. (if you do end up waiting the waiters usually come around with free appetizers to tied you over). i almost don't want to tell anyone about this place for fear ill never get in again.
First off, the food is top notch for the price. I cant comment on the ambiance because I'm a frequent patron of their delivery service. OK, granted I only live 10 blocks away from the place, but the food ALWAYS arrives under the hour they predict even if I call during their dinner rush. I dropped $40 on a small pizza, chicken fingers, steak dinner (9 oz.) and piece of apple pie + tip. Including tip =$40. Not too bad if you ask me. I'd drop much more if I actually went in, let me tell you, cause I hear they got cheap drinks, and you get the liquor into me and the next thing you know we're down at Hastings St. with a nose full of toot and crusin' the hags. Anyways, thats why I dont go out much. I just order it in. Even the other things I mentioned.
re. Post 10/19/04 Awful Management
I found out why the customer was complaining to management. The customer didn't want to pay for extra Tsatsiki sauce. Customer said they shouldn't pay because it's like ketchup.
Martini's makes their tsatsiki sauce from scratch. It's not bottled ketchup. In Vancouver, customers are used to paying extra for freshly made Tsatsiki sauce, Guacamole, Salsa, Homous, etc. I guess out-of-towners are not used to this.
We found this restaurant over 10 years ago and have been going back for every occasion our family has had! Everytime I have gone, I always have the same thing - Chicken Cordon Bleu - it is amazing everytime and the price has only changed a dollar or two in the past 10 years.
There is every kind of food you could imagine there to please even the pickyest in your family - ribs, chicken, vegetarian dishes, pasta, and their amazing whole wheat crust pizza.
Try it out - you own't be be dissapointed.
Martinis has been an established pizza delivery restaurant for many years. The menu hasn't changed too much and is (compared to many other places) a little boring. The food is standard fare it is filling and cheap but nothing special. If you are looking for something new... go elseware.
I dream about their pizza. It's amazingly good, cheap drinks, friendly down to earth staff, fun pub-like atmosphere. A new favorite! Open later than most places which is nice. I would reccommend this resturant to anyone!
