Acropol Taverna, Vancouver

Small and quaint, nice hot pita served to the table and the rest is downhill. When we asked the waitress the size of the Kalamari appetizer, we would have purchased two if she had described the accurate portion size considering there were four of us!! The special was Chicken Souvlaki which was dry and took forever to come. We actually saw the chef leave and come back with an IGA bag!! The gyro was not gyro meat it was some kind of distasteful ground meat camoflauged with tsatziki. Some kind of red sauce covered the rice on the plate and two precooked potatoe halves which were gross and then an undressed cup of Greek salad...needless to say we won't be going back and it's sad that people review this place with such positive comments because it was because of this site that we chose it!

The food at the Acropol is fantastic. The platters are a great value and be sure to add on some addtional lambchops. Great little place -clean friendly and warm. A great find.

Small romantic atmoshpere, the best greek food I've ever had and excellent service. Situated in one of the finest neighborhoods in Vancouver, its a total experience. Try the humus and the avgolemeno (soup).
