Section (3), Vancouver

Traveling from DC and visited with my sister for our one night out. Loved the ambiance, a wee bit of an artsy musician/dj/club feel. You gotta be into a little hip late night scene to like this spot. Good dj spinning house, funky/trendy crowd - tons of drinking going on. Bartenders weren't too social but they got the job done with quick drinks. Yam fries were delicious.... maybe not the spot for "foodies" but definately a spot for drinks, snacks, and a cool crowd.

can't think of anywhere i would rather go on a regular basis than section (3). one of the first restaurants in Yaletown (it used to be deniro's) it is refreshingly unpretentious unlike a lot of the places in this hood.i've never had snotty service and love the yam fries. where else can you go in yaletown for pasta and a beer on sunday night for less than $15! the creamy smoked chicken penne is my fave. all the pastas are $11 on sundays. pretty sweet deal.

I've been to Section (3) a few times and the overall decor and ambiance is quite good, especially on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, when certain DJs I've heard, spin. On those nights, it's awesome. However that's all this place is good for. I tried the pizza, crab cakes and yam fries and they were all terribly mushy, oily and really, just lacking any real distinct flavor. The martinis were warm, the servers (except for a tall guy with glasses) unfriendly and snobby.
