CinCin Ristorante, Vancouver

The food was disgutind, the service awful & there was no ambiance. The only thing worse than our overall experience was the value for money. so there!

This was hands down one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was impeccable. Our waiter made us feel as though we were the only table he needed to tend to, yet he was never hovering. The marble bar was absolutely breathtaking. This is a restaurant for true food connoisseurs. I highly recommend Cin Cin ( and the garganelli al vitello!!!) and plan on visiting every time I'm in the Vancouver area.

The most terrible experience that I ever had with a fine dining restaurant was with the CinCin restaurant in Vancouver, BC! While being seated, the waitress lit 4 small candles and said that they are going to turn the lights off for one hour in order to conserve energy in the town of Vancouver... We could barely see the menu and asked for some more light. We had to share one flashlight for that. We shared one salad, which was supposed to have dates in it. It was just a bunch of greens with thinly sliced date (perhaps one half of a date for the full salad). My wife ordered a full course of ravioli and was told she would be served five pieces. I ordered full course of linguini with white anchovies. Both dishes were very small. Mine was served in a huge plate and was only about 4 inches in diameter by less than two inches high.. The bread was four extremely small buns (one or two bites each). Everything was tasty, but the bill was about $86. We were charged $25.5 for each miniature pasta dish, $12.5 for one glass of wine and $13.5 for the rather small bunch of greens. The menu said $16.0 for a full entre and $9.5 for half an entree. The manager has fixed that for us and offered coffee and deserts, but we passed on this. It ruined my wife birthday celebration. Save your money and keep away from this skimpy and snobbish place!

We really like the low-lit atmosphere and Tuscan design/ambiance. The service is very good. The Beef Carpacio is excellent. The wine list is extensive. It is far too expensive to eat there regularly, but we do love it. So the value is not GREAT. But Vancouver lacks taste in a few ethnic food groups and one of them is italian....(other: real quality mexican). We love the seabass. The menu changes so it's really fun to see what the new menu item is. For two of us we usually drop $220.00

My friend and I stopped in for lunch on a busy day, and found CinCin to be a sweet retreat from the buzz of the street below. The waitress was graceful and friendly, the patio warm and surrounded with foliage and privacy, and the food, well, absolutely wonderful. We had the risotto with fresh peas, the tuna, and a green salad. For dessert, I sampled the "Essensia" Orange Muscat, and the waitress also brought me a complimentary sample of the Nivole Moscato D'Asti. We will definitely visit CinCin again on our next visit to Vancouver!

Our dinner on May 25, 2007 did not live up to the standard of prior visits. Service was attentive and knowledgeable, no complaints in this area. The two appetizers, seared Ahi Tuna and Foie Gras were excellent, the Foie Gras in particular being the best we have had in any Vancouver restaurant. The main entrees were disappointing however. The filet mignon with Asperagus was done medium rare as per request, but was oversalted. There was visible salt deposits on the plate. The accompanying sauce was rather flavourless (with the exception of being oversalted) The other entree, Lobster on Spaghetinni was equally disappointing. The pasta was cooked well enough, but the lobster was seriously overcooked. Given the prices at this restaurant, one would expect better quality control.

We have been known to plan entire trips up to Vancouver from Washington just to have dinner at Cin Cin. I crave the Rock Shrimp and Angel Hair pasta, and my husband adores the wood fire pizzas. We've never been disappointed in the food, and the service is always attentive and charming. It's a bustling place, with plenty of attractive patrons (and staff), but you never feel rushed or out of place.

We ate at Cin Cin the year before and the food and service were brilliant. We returned this year ( we come from Wales) and it was a great disappointment. The prices are not by any standard cheap and when the food came my starter was essentially a pile of lettuce leaves. It was awful. When the final bill came it was astronomical for what was essentially a very poor meal. It was so bad that I wrote them a letter when we came home (I`ve never done that before!)- but they never bothered to reply. Things might have improved over the last year, but, at those prices I won`t take a chance again. Incidentally, we found that dining on Robson Street (except for O`Doule`s) to be a rip off. You get better food at some of the places on the two parallel streets.

I tried this place for luch and liked its romantic atmosphere. The food was good and the wine list was intelligent. It's good value for food, wine and ambience. It even manages to be casual enough for drop in dining.
