Description

This casual and colourful spot is a popular California-style Mexican cafe. The ambience is friendly and bright, with neon signs, customer-coloured pictures and the odd sombrero tacked on the wall. Chips and salsa are served free as starters, and a large menu features your choice of a la carte or entree items. Try the Chicken Quesadilla with jack cheese and the delicious, creamy guacamole. Entrees are served with beans, rice and Mexican salad. Crab or prawn fillings are also available.

a great place for above average mexican dining. i thought the food could have been a little more flavorfull, but all in all a better place to eat than most.

the food is exceptional. the avacado sauce they load on their burritos in is to die for. trust me. nothing like it anywhere. super small place, super casual.

T Shirt Wears Well

Far north of the border

Well, it is two borders and a bit to Mexico, but Topanga reminds one of the best of California influenced Mexican cuisine. The decor is simple, the service friendly and efficient, and the food very good value. The chile relleno and quesadillas are definitely worth trying. The single entree should be sufficient for most people, but if you are a big eater try a double. The kind of neighbourhood restaurant that one wants to visit regularly, especially on cool damp evenings.

This place is great. i've been going her for practically my whole life and can never remember being disappointed. Just make sure yyou try different items off the menu. It's easy to stick with one thing because it's delicious, but so is everythig else so switch it up.

I'm hooked!

Best Mexican food I've had in a very, very long time - the meat is lean (without unwanted skin/fat), the dishes are tasty and plenty for the buck. I'm hooked on the chicken and beef burritos and enchiladas.

Mexican Bargain Delight

The large servings are flavourful and the prices are friendly. My personal favourite is the chilli releno. The room is somewhat pedestrian in decor, but the crowd is lively. Well worth a visit.

The best "date" resturant in the city!

On a Saturday night at 8pm there is a line-up outside Topanga Cafe and it's for a good reason: you can not find better California-style Mexican food in the city. Not only does this small resturant serve Mexican beer and the best Margurita pitchers in town but the servers are friendly, the guacamole and salsa are home-made, and the bill is always reasonable! You can also order take-out. The Topanga Cafe is the best "date" resturant in the city.

Best Casual Mexican in Vancouver

I've tried them all, and this is my favourite place for Mexican in the Vancouver area. Unfotunately the place is a bit too small (good for the atmosphere, but bad for the crowdedness). No reservations are taken and the line can go out the door onto the street, so its best to get there early on weeknights. Try the Burrito's "wet" (not on the menu) which has the Enchilada sauce on top...
