Truffles Mediterranean Deli
Open until 2am on weekends, this intimate bistro is frequented by laid-back locals. The umber hued room can best be described as eclectic: posters, tapestries, mirrors, clocks, flowers, and prints randomly fill the space. The menu is filled with fresh and European-influenced dishes. Try the baked brie: a foccacia dough pocket of cheese and spices served with a side salad of organic baby greens drizzled in a maple-tinged vinaigrette (CAD9). For dessert, there is a daily selection of creamy cheesecakes (CAD5). Try the blueberry-dappled Sangria (CAD4.50 per glass).
I was in Vancouver only for the last summer and I discover this place with a couple of my friends and we ended there everythime we went out! This place is very cool! They serve very good nachos and beer (some form Québec, my province!) THe truffles are so delicious! I bought 8 at a time and the owner was very surprised! I a lovely place where you have to go if you are in Vancouver! The most beautiful place I saw during my summer in Vancouver! Go there and talk with the owner! You'll sure have fun!
When you enter the room you instantly start to relax as you soak up the candlelight, romantic international music and antique furnishings and decorations. Each table is unique and finished with oversized drippy candles. The menue includes scrumptious drinks like their hot chocolate and mulled wine, great platters for two with meats and cheeses, and the best tiramisu i have ever tasted. Sitting on one of the comfy wood couches with a date you feel wisked off into a dream world. Bonus - the employees are great peole and VERY polite.
