European visitors will enjoy Papa George's because orders can be placed in French, German or English. Located in downtown Jasper's Astoria Hotel, this friendly restaurant serves contemporary Canadian food in a comfortable and subdued atmosphere. For late risers, there is a weekend brunch special, and a children's menu for smaller appetites. It specializes in AAA Angus beefsteak, but also serves wild game, chicken and fresh halibut and salmon. For a table on summer evenings, make an early reservation because the restaurant is popular with tourists and locals.
