Characters, Edmonton

Characters has wonderful, fresh food that often has a twist without being too try-hard and weird. The room has a rustic yet modern and open feel giving you a view of the grilling area. Service is subdued but attentive. The prices aren't exhorbitant and you'll feel you got good value out of the dining experience. I highly recommend Characters for both lunch and dinner.

My wife and I celebrated Valentines Day at Characters and both agree that it was more than memorable. We were greeted with class by the host who promply seated us and personally hung out jackets. The food was absolutly amazing. I have travelled around the world and never had a better cut of meat. If I could make a recommendation, it would be the Angus Blackened Beef Tenderloin. Truly remarkable! A very extensive and tasteful wine selection made the meal that much more enjoyable. I would recommend this fine restaraunt to anyone seeking a truly fabulous dining experience.

Great service. Friendly, engaging. Rich, and tastey dishes. Had the duck and the tenderloin. Would have them again in a flash. Great wine list. You could get lost. And something as simple as bread pudding raised to new heights. Expect to spend for what you get. Entrees run in the twenty five to forty range, but they print out the numbers on the menu to soften the blow (thirty nine is less painful than $39.00, no?). The only negative thing were the high backed chairs; they are designed for someone with no shoulders.
