Chance, Edmonton

The food was ok, though not the 5 stars that some of the other reviews stated. The food came to us warmish, not hot. It was sitting around a lot before the waiter got it to us. Water was never refilled. Waiter came by once to check on us, and once more to bring the check. The fish was tasty, but the sauce could not rehydrate the dry center. The thing that tainted to food was the service. I figured out by watching other tables is that the ones that got the best service were the ones who ordered overpriced bottles of wine. No one in my party was a drinker, so we all had water or soft drinks. Consequently, we had poor service. No Wine = No Service I can't recommend going here when there are so many other better restaurants out there with better food AND better service.

The previous three reviews were *obviously* written by friends of the owner - Chance is not a 5-star restaurant, in my humble opinion. The food was ok, approximately on the same level as food served at an Earl's-level restaurant. Service was also mediocre - if you want your drinks refilled promptly, or any attention paid to you without ordering a bottle of expensive wine, then look elsewhere. Finally, the ambiance was terrible; although there is romantic lighting and contemporary decor, we were sat at open dining area, which offered no privacy and little atmosphere. Bottom line: for the money, you can find better food, service, and atmosphere.

I liked this place alot. Me and my spouse went their for a nice dinner, and the ambiance and overall mood of the place is great. It gives off an amazing feel of comfort and romance. I recomned not taking a chance by going to chance!

i have dined at the restaurant a couple of times and every experience has been memorable. the qualtiy service is only outdone by the exquisite food. i would recommend a reservation at lunch because they are quite full, but the speed of service remains quick!
