Prince's Island Park

Description

Statistics say that Prince's Island is one of the most used urban parks in North America. Come here on a sunny day and you will not doubt it. Originally, the island was used to catch felled trees floating down the Bow River from logging projects upstream. Now this bit of serenity in downtown serves as a favorite venue for joggers, football tossers, family picnics, flocks of Canadian Geese, buskers, Shakespearean actors and nearly every major festival that Calgary hosts. This is also a great place for a quiet paddle down the river. Admission is free. Open daily from 6 am.

GREAT PLACE TO VISIT!!! Beautiful
By ,
We went there in the evening b4 dark in July and same as always the park was very well kept, interesting, fun for kids and absolutly beautiful. I don't know if there is enough space here to write all the wonderful things about this amazing park. There is a free water park for kids, artwork, displays, fountains, gardens, sculptures and a quiet mall nearby. In addition to the park the mall next to it has a theatre and arcade. We always take our kids here, its a bit for adults and kids. We walk through the park, in the waterpark and the go to the arcade before heading to a movie. Some of the cheapest entertainment! A must visit place.

Good family place.
By ,
The City of Calgary holds its annual Canada Day Celebration in the park. There're a lot of activities on the day. You'll get to see a lot of geese by Bow River. The grass in the park needs working.
