We started going to this restaurant about 6 years ago. I ordered the "Blue House Delight" which the aroma and taste were to die for. After that, they seemed to have changed the recipe, and the quality of food has been sliding ever since. We stopped going for awhile but we gave it a try again 2 days ago since I saw some recent favourable reviews on the internet and newspaper. I was extremely disappointed and I think this restaurant has hit its bottom finally.
I ordered the "loster bisque" to start. Gosh, I never had a loster bisque this poor before. The broth was wishy-washy and thin, and the color was brown like French Onion Soup. It tasted like they had put some bouillon cubes in it. The dinner rolls were overly-toasted. The crust was so hard that it scratched my mouth. My guest and husband had each a shrimp appetizer. The shrimps were very small. All these appetizers came luke-warm. By the way, it's summer right now.
For main course, my guest ordered his tuna rare, but it came out "well done". My husband's seafood combo was again lukewarm and each mussel had sand in it. My halibut was covered with a glue of tomato sauce which tasted horrible. The rice in each of our dish was still raw. I tried to wait for our waiter to come back to check on our food so that I could tell him. He never came back, nor did he check on our food, nor to see if we would like to order more wine. I eventually had to catch him by waiting outside the kitchen.
I was also very embarrassed in this experience, since we were supposed to celebrate my nephew's university graduation in this restaurant, and we wanted to treat him for a great dinner.
The waiter was apologetic about our evening and he gave us a certificate for the next visit. However, I don't think we'll have much use of it. Who would want to go through this again by spending more money in this restaurant.
My advice: go somewhere else if you want good food and a great evening.
