Joey Tomato's Kitchen - Eau Claire, Calgary

The food was horrible and the service was apalling. I will NEVER go back and would not recommed it to my worst enemy. A HUGE waste of time and money.

I hate the place bad service and bad food. wonder how they treat there employees

At our recent outing we requested a high chair or booster chair for my grandson. None were available the reason given was "we like to cater to a higher clientele." Obviously children are neither welcome nor t wanted.

We are Joey's fans in Kelowna and Van. We probably go to the Van one once per month. Eau Claire was a completely different experience. from the moment we walked in. - Ginger beef, not at all like the other Joey's . Server took it back and replaced it with a Viva salad but still insisted on charging us for the ginger beef which had one bite out of it. - Viva salad, came out with salad and onions only. Server realized after about 5 minutes that it did not have the chicken on it. She brought out a piece of cut up chicken to put on the salad. At that point we told her that the tomatoes had not been put on either. She brought those out a little latter. - We asked for lemon with our San Pallegrino, she forgot brought them out after the second asking. They looked like they had sat out for days. Very unappetizing. We did not use them. - The apple pie, which we LOVE at other Joeys came out with the edges burned. We ate most of it but only after asking for 4 forks. She brought 3 out of the 4 forks. Server was pleasant but needed some serious training in stepping up to the needs of the consumer. The food was not up to the standard of the Joey's that we go to in Van.

Joey's decor is really nice, esp. balcony furniture outdoor. Servers were nice, although a bit underdressed. Don't go there if you want good food. Ordered an Ahi Tuna salad (approx. 16.00), veg was wilted and tuna tasted like cardboard, these people do not know how to do 'seared' fish.

Great atmosphere. Great place to go for a date of just to meet a friend. There is a reason this place always has a wait! Really good food, but don't forget your wallet! It is a little expensive, but worth it.

Sometimes things go from bad to worse. The hostess was complaining to us that our entire group was not there. I told her that the guy was parking his car, she had a hissy fit, like she couldn't handle the situation. jeeez. We did get seated and ordered, but after the food came it seemed like we were isolated on a deserted island. I had to go to the kitchen to get the manager to get water refilled. I told the manager to leave a pitcher of water if your crew was not going to do their job and refill the glasses. He would not do it because he claimed that there was a shortage of pitchers. When there was a problem with one of the meals, I again had to go to the kitchen to get help. That dish was barely touched. We wanted to have this disgusting thing removed from the tab, but the manager said that since we had eaten two friggin bites, that he could not take it off the bill. HOW ELSE ARE WE SUPPOSED TO TELL THAT THE FOOD WAS RANCID?!?!? No replacement, no apology, and no refund. I left no tip to offset the cost of the bad food. The prices are too high for what you get. Poor service makes everything worse. Even if you paid my tab, I would not eat here again. NEVER COMING BACK.

My sister and her daughter dines at JT this last eveing and not only left hungry, left with a distaste for the chain. Ordered for my neice, who is 5, was a salad with mango, peanuts and noodles. A salad lover, she was excited to have her "adult" dish. However, upon arival, and after a few bites, my 5 year olds niece's mouth was burning. Apparently, the chef had decided to sautee the chicken, noted as grilled on the menu, in chillie peppers!! For those who cant eat hot food, and certain ly for a 5 year old, the surprise of anything spicey is very uncomfortable. All could have been easily corrected, by a prompt acknowledgement of the error, new food and certainly the salad not being carged. None of this happened. When the bill came and the bill challenged, the wairess simply said the manager decided not to accomidte a request of taking the cost of the un eaten salad off, as my niece was given two scoops of ice cream. Hungry and disappointed with the JT estabilshment, i send this to alert other families of this poor food and service.

The food is good with lots of variety. The atmosphere is very noisy. The waitresses dress skimpy. Way too expensive for what you get. Great place for young people, if you're over twenty-five you will feel like a minority and won't fit in.

well.. this WAS a great restaurant but we were a bit disapointed because the review posted on here before this said there were fireplaces everywhere! (we went to the one in Eau Claire). We were also expecting a lot more pasta on the menu (because of the name, it sounded Italian), it is mostly steaks, ribs, brick oven pizza and chicken. The ambiance is a lot like East Side Marios but a bit more tacky (big tomatoes and white Christmas lights everywhere) and the bathrooms weren't too hot. BUT, the chef is an award winning gourmet chef so the food definately made up for it. The service was excellent, you could tell they have a good training program. Overall I would recommend this restaurant but don't expect fireplaces!
