Peppino's Restaurant, Calgary

Been going here for almost 20 years for the excellent, fresh sandwiches, coffee and gelato served up by by Joe Lecce & sons. Also great selection of frozen dishes to take home. It's a Calgary institution and a treasure.

I tend to go out of my way to get a hold of one of these sandwiches. They are so tasty and always worth the detour. The saddest thing is I always forget that they are closed on Sundays. My dissapointment when I make the realization that I won't be getting a sandwich is overwhelming.

I would love for everyone in the world to go and try one of Peppino's sandwiches. They are divine. They also have a wonderful selection of frozen products that everyone should try. You must try the frozen lasagna. So much chesee, it's to die for. Also to my children there for lunch and the service was great. They went out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable. I think they are the only place left in Calgary that has any customer service. Check them out!

Great sandwiches (cold and hot) made with top ingredients - from the bun, the spiced olive oil, fresh veg, and only the best imported cheese and meat. The sandwich menu is huge, with a large vegetarian section. There are freezers full of homemade dinners to heat and eat, and fantastic homemade gelato. Peppino's is much more than a sandwich shop, with a full selection of imported pasta, canned goods, meats and cheeses, and daily hot lunches. While we were in Calgary a few years ago we were walking along Kensington Rd. and it started to rain so we walked in and had lunch at Peppino's. We thought we were in having lunch in a small village in Cosenza Italy. We had a plate of penne with sauce. Best I have ever tasted. Would defenitly go back. Enjoyed every minute.
