Santorini Greek Taverna, Calgary

Other than the odd 'off-day' (in over 20 years of going), Santorini's has always been able to maintain a high and authentic standard that we expect from a Greek restaurant. The staff are wonderful, the food excellent, and although the portions have been reduced somewhat in the past few years, we still think this is a great value for the quality of food and service. Highly recommended and we will continue to enjoy the 2-3 visits every year we undertake. If you want tasty, dependable and a feel for real Greek food, Santorini is your best bet.

We have been going to Santorini's since our first date in 1991. The food is amazing and the servers all make you feel like family. Highly recommend for authenic greek cuisine.

We heard about Santorini's from people we work with, and we heard nothing but great things! We went in on a Saturday evening without a reservation and the staff worked hard to find us a table even though it looked all booked up. Our server was a very sweet girl who knew the menu inside and out. We had never been there before and she recommended the Taverna Special. The Taverna, as our server put it, is all of their popular dishes combined into one LARGE feast. The food was AMAZING!!! I have never had lamb so tender before. They had a belly dancer that night and she got the crowd going. It was such an incredible experience and we would recommend this place to anyone! We can't wait to go back!

Reliable, traditional Greek favourites in a fun and lively atmosphere. Although I enjoy it for a romantic night out, it's also great for small groups celebrating. (For more attentive service try going early in the week, as weekends can get very busy.) We also had a roast suckling pig from Santorini for my father's retirement several years back, and it was a huge success.

Our friends recommended this place highly, saying that they enjoyed the food. We went there and had some of the worst service I have ever experienced. I can forgive a short-staff due to illness or emergency, but it seemed like the crew just didn't care. The food was edible, but far from the quality of other local greek places. It was not 'yummy' . Maybe that is not a technical term, but I hope you understand. It definitely did not make up for the poor service. I would avoid this place until they either change management (the employees always take on the personality of the management) or owners.

The Menu at Santorini is very standard, untouched since '82 by the looks of it, and the food presentation looks tired. But the flavour is very good, the ambience is pleasant, and great service gives Santorini a buzz on a busy night.

best night of our lives the food was exeptionally good we enjoyed the greek dancing that was done after the belly dancer and the dishes being broken while greek dancing we reccomend the kleftiko other wise known as roast lamb

The atmosphere of this place is fun and welcoming, the food tasted amazing and I recommend it for anyone who is interested in experiencing real Greek food.
