So disappointed

My husband and I stopped at the Grizzly House for a late lunch during a recent day trip to Banff. We have been there previously and enjoyed the experience and the food.
Imagine our surprise when the host and the waiter turned out to be unaccountably rude and condescending. We were given a small, dark table although it was after 2 p.m. and only four other tables were occupied. When we asked to move to a brighter and more pleasant location, we were told, "Ask your waiter, you never know when more tables of four will come for lunch". The waiter proved to be equally unpleasant and, it seemed to us, proceeded to serve us grudgingly. We were sorely tempted to leave and it's unlikely that we will be patronizing this restaurant again!
Do they not realize that they are in the business of providing service to people who come to enjoy themselves, spend their money and should rightly expect value for that expense? On speaking of our experience to other people, we learned that this was not an isloated incident and others had experienced rude behaviour from staff.
Not the way to run a restaurant people!! Especially in an economy when business are closing down.
And for wait staff who think it's ok to treat customers as an inconvenience, here's my advice -- get a different job.
