Built by the Belz Hasidic community, the Beis HaMedrash HaGadol is the largest synagogue in Jerusalem. The extravagantly designed hall seats 6,000 people. It is highlighted by the 12 meter tall Brazilian walnut ark housing 100 torah scrolls. Equally impressive are the massive chandeliers laced with 100,000 pieces of Czechoslovakian crystal.
