Fishers Seafood Restaurant, Oxford

I'd heard about Fishers. Freshly sourced fish, daily changing menus and all that. But being so far from the sea I just had to see it to believe it. I couldn't have enjoyed a more delicious meal if I had caught and cooked it myself. Of course they have their traditional choices, the ones that never change and they include a fine fisherman's portion of haddock and chips, mushy peas and all the trimmings to keep you going for a day or two. Then there's the daily changing bits. Great fresh water and sea fish presented in caringly thought out combinations and served with the chunkiest of 'fish and chip shop' chips. Whatever your fancy I'm sure this menu has just what takes it and plenty of fine tipples to choose from on the wine list too. If you have room, the chocolate fondue is a worthy gap filler too.
