The River Cafe, the former kitchens of TV chef Jamie Oliver, is positively bursting with life. It's lively, chic and dotted with celebrities - ensuring its place on London's A-list. the food is absolutley delicious, you can sit outside or inside. It is a very spacious restaurant with fast service. the waiters and waitresses are very polite and willing to please. Although it may be quite pricey it is worth every penny. They provide you with good bread and the deserts are divine. It is a quiet and peaceful, restaurant and i would not recomend it to people who like loud busy places. It is a restaurant where you can get simple yet delicious food.

The River Cafe is simply a gem. My husband and I went for lunch, and every bite was outstanding. It's obvious that Rose and Ruth are very serious about the quality and freshness of their ingredients, from appetizers right on through dessert and cheese. Our only "regret" is that we weren't there during the summer. Our imaginations told us that the whole dining experience would be even further enhanced when the garden outside is in bloom.
From arrival to an all too quick end, lunch was quite simply divine. Our server was as enthusiastic as we were about the food and the wine. It's refreshing to eat out and discuss the menu with staff who know good food. We were in luck also as Rose Gray was at the helm, it was a joy to watch as the kitchen ran smoothly and efficiently. The quality of the food was on par with Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence, without the fine dining element. I don't think one can argue about the price, I'm happy to pay for food that is lovingly brought from source to plate with simplicitiy. How wonderful not to see the dreaded word "jus" appear on a menu. Well done to Rose & Ruth and your wonderful crew.
