HK Diner

Description

Considering its proximity to China Town, the HK Diner is always bustling. It is regarded by many, especially by the Chinese population, as a favorite for fine Chinese cuisine. There's a decent selection of seafood dishes costing around £8.20 each, while other plates cost a pound or two less. If you really want a feast to write home about, then settle down for one of the set menus. Starting at £20 a head, they're perhaps on the pricey side, but you certainly get a lot for your cash. There's no vegetarian option however, which could be restrictive if you're going in a mixed group. Also worth a try are their bubble teas and shakes. It is open seven day a week until 4am.

Good For Vegetarians
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/17/07
We looked around chinatown for half an hour trying to find a place that did good value vegetarian food, mainly tofu. we found HK and were pleased to find tofu and noodle dished for under a fiver each on the vegetarian menu in the window. it was very popular with chinese people, a good sign! :) The service was incredibly fast and the portions were good. the drinks were slightly expensive but a quid for refillable chinese tea was a bargain. we left satisfied and full. a must for vegetarians ! we're going tonight!

friendly people, good service, fun city, wonderful food which i like. too many people quite crowed, the cost for living quite expensive which i dislike overall the city, you whoud feel free, westren culture plus chinese elements, mixed together, just right. also the people can speak good english, easy to communicate.nice city,i wish i would go around again.

HK Diner eating Peking duck
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/9/08
The meal was delicious with the bill coming to less than we expeced, cheaper then the day before at another chinese. After being concerned that one would have to pay over the odds for the supposedly best duck in town, the prices were reasonable - even cheap - and the experience unforgettable. The peking duck had more meat on it and far less fat, it was crispy and was mouthwateringly tasty - the best duck we have ever had. HK Diner at the end of Chinatown, near O'neal pub JS

Appalling Service
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/25/09
The service appalling, i hadn't finished my drink and the women had placed the bill onto my table! Next the bill was £9.70 which had included the VAT. I still managed to finish my drink before placing £10 onto the bill plate, but got NO CHANGE back, and also before i left the table, the women had already prepared to give a menu out for the next customer, although there was a queue because it was busy, you can't kick customers out because they haven't finished. VERY BAD SERVICE, DON'T GO

1st vist
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/10/09
Just went to HK Diner over the weekend, it was amazing ! the food was absolutely authentic like in Hong Kong and the whole place was buzzing after 10pm. Suppose that's why lots of Hong Kong celebrities come here when they are in London, I would thorough recommend it to anyone seeking a great Chinese restaurant! Try the steamed scollope for starter and Cantonese beef for main course!
