Strathclyde Country Park, Motherwell

This 1,100-acre park is in the Clyde Valley just outside Glasgow, but it certainly justifies a trip as you could happily spend a lifetime here. Thousands of visitors come to enjoy everything, from sailing on Strathclyde Loch to birdwatching in the woodland and wetlands. There is a well-equipped campsite and facilities for many sports on both land and water, including horse riding, orienteering, coarse angling, football, hockey, windsurfing, water skiing and Canadian canoeing.
