Watt Brothers

Description

Although lacking the prestige and elaborate decor of its peers, low prices more than compensate for this department store's sartorial shortcomings. The premises are quite compact but good use is made of the space and there are lifts between all six floors, which are clearly laid out and impossible to get lost in. Departments include menswear, ladies wear, soft furnishings, kitchenware, china, gifts and haberdashery. Customers are almost exclusively locals, perhaps because the entrance is actually round the corner on Hope Street which some visitors to the city may find confusing.

Rude Staff Worthless returns policy avoid
By ,
Terrible customer service, potential electronics customers please be warned their return policy is worthless, from recent personal experience of buying a cordless phone which produced a signal which was barely audible. I attempted to return the item the next day only to be refused by a very rude counter assistant and a rude superviser / manager - entirely unnacceptable and definitely not as simple as it states on their receipt best avoided for electronics !!

Well worth a visit
By ,
Great bargains especially, as other reviewers have stated, in skincare. I regularly use the Hamilton and Lanark stores and have absolutely no complaints. Staff have always been polite and helpfull.

By ,
i have shopped often in watt brothers and have had nothing but kindness so for the moaners above if u dont like it dont shop in it it will survive without you you,s can stick to likes of primark and tj hughes and its sad that all u have to do in your time is sit and greet over sad life u have stay out of busy shops shop online and give us that like shopping peace to enjoy.i can stand grump shoppers and as for the pensioners they have less manners than the ones the moan about you,s are probably some of them yourselfs get a life bye bye as for staff as long as they take my payment for goods i dont care what they do otherwise

Watt Brothers (Glasgow)
By ,
Last time I had the unfortunate pleasure of being in this dump, they happened to be stock taking making buying anything a real challenge. Asked for help many times, but the assistance was poor and there were too many people walking about doing nothing. Especially one worker who looked like they had been tangoed and stroled about in a long black coat like he was part of the mafia. Will not be back, maybe its the superb quality tickets which put me off, the fact most goods had pure signs of being seconds or the poor excuse for workers and service. Kirsty

A bad experience
By ,
Although I have to agree the stores are good value, the staff and management in most of the stores are too young and not trained in good customer relations, I note on quite a few reviews that customers were unhappy with the staff, Watt Bros. should take note, I have at least two friends who will not return because of bad experiences.I'm afraid the customer is very seldom right in this store.

Great value store.
By ,
I loved this little department store, the prices of a large range of goods were spot on,the staff were really nice, I have to admit the staff in the Ayr branch, especially the assistant manager were not as friendly as the Glasgow store, on trying to return an item he was unfair and abusive, I have been left with an unusable purchase. But I still think the Glasgow store is Great.

Watt Brothers the Greatest!
By ,
I remember being taken to Watt Brothers as a wee girl, when I lived in Govan, by my late Mum. I shopped there too when I was a teenager, in my twenties, thirties, forties and fifties and now in my sixties:) I have purchased many items throughout these years and found value for money. Although some things have changed within the store over the years, it is still the best store in Glasgow - you always get excellent value for money. It is nice too that there are always salespeople around to both help and serve customers. Long may it continue and a thank you to Watt Brothers:)
