Water Bug Tours, Beaufort

We had a group of 9 people and we ALL enjoyed the tour. Our captain was very personable and informative. We did see the horses. All questions were welcomed by our captain. He was as enjoyable as the scenic tour.

This boat tour is really relaxing. Not a huge boat, very intimate. Very comfortable while watching the wildlife and hearing about the history of the area. You can ask all the questions you want, not like a big tour with the narrator speaking from a microphone. We did see the horses and lots of birds.

Upon arriving at the dock, we were told that there was a minimun charge of $60 to take the boat out. This was never disclosed on their website which advertised tours for $15 per person. After finally getting to go onboard, we spend most of our time floating in the channed between Morehead City and Beaufort. We were told that if we had been on the last tour, that we would have seen a LARGE pod of dolphins, but that wasn't the case on our tour. We didn't see either dolphins or the wild horses, but as we were exiting the docks, I overheard the captain telling the next group that they should have been on the last tour because they saw a Large pod of dolphins. I think that's his standard line whether he actually sees anything or not. Very Large Disappointment. Not much to see, and very little history of the area was disclosed. Would not recommend.

this is a waste of time and money. pick up any visitor guide magazine and you will get the smae info. take a walk down beufort water front and you will see the same thing,historic houses,oyster beds,and wild horses on carrot island. what a tourist trap.
